To further expand the international use of PERDIXPro equipment and digital systems, we have begun working closely with TruControl, a specialist wildlife management company based in the United Arab Emirates. TruControl have long been at the forefront of using smart technologies within their wildlife management projects and so this partnership is a perfect fit for both companies.
The PERDIXPro platform provides wildlife and land managers with an all-in-one system for remotely monitoring wildlife and equipment and manually collecting data on field-based activities and surveys. It is these technological services that TruControl will be providing to their customers in a wide variety of sectors across the Middle East.
TruControl CEO and Founder Ruan Botha, who has over a decade of international experience in both traditional and technology-driven wildlife management, explains why he has chosen PERDIXPro as a solution for his customers:
‘PERDIX builds equipment that holds up in the field, and that matters in this region. Their systems are practical, well-engineered and built with a clear understanding of how wildlife work is actually done. Partnering with them gives us the tools and service we can trust and stand behind. For us, this is about bringing proven, dependable capability into the UAE and other GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries. We’re looking forward to working closely with the PERDIX team and putting their software and hardware to work where reliability is the deciding factor.’

There is already a great deal of interest in the PERDIXPro platform across the Middle East with TruControl managing a number of projects that require solutions provided by PERDIXPro. One such project involves the capture and translocation of protected Arabian Red Foxes.

PERDIXPro devices set on site to monitor fox activity.
By using the 4G remote trap tags and cameras available within the PERDIXPro system, TruControl operatives can monitor their live-capture cage traps 24/7 and respond immediately to any captures. Captured foxes can then quickly be removed and transported to a release site on a national nature reserve. As well as ensuring a high level of animal welfare during these operations, it also increases trapping efficiency and ultimately lowers project costs.
In addition to the remote monitoring, TruControl operatives will also be utilising the PERDIXPro Form Builder and Fieldbook app to carry out wildlife surveys and collect data in the field. Going forward, we will be working together to train our system’s AI model on Arabian Red Fox, to allow instant notification of the presence of an individual fox when captured by a PERDIXPro enabled camera.
